Discovering Aotearoa

As you know I'm full Tongan and currently live in Auckland New Zealand. My parents both grew up in Tonga. My mum in Nuku'alofa and my dad in Ha'apai. They many stories about their childhood and some are traumatising and it still is to this day.

Growing up I had things that I wanted and received them but now I don't seem to always get everything I wished for. I learnt many things growing up like to be patience and enjoy life as it is. Still I'm continuing to learn more things in my life and will remember my happy and mostly sad memories.

Day 1- Explorers
Activity 1- Setting Sail

1. A pack of water bottles because sometime in the day, it can get hot and sweaty. Overall water helps you have a healthy mindset and is helpful when you don't have energy.
2. Chocolate is another good food to help release your difficulties and pain.
3. Ice cream sandwiches because they're tasty and just make you happy while eating it.
4. If I'm not in the mood for water, I'll just drink fizzy since water doesn't really make me satisfied with the taste.
5. I'll take Hawaiian sweet rolls and eat it with my favourite fruits like pineapple, grapes, oranges and such other.
6.  If I'm really not in the best mood during the day and I feel like disappearing, I'll just take out my container full of strawberries dipped in chocolate.
7. I'd gladly bring with me pringles with sauce because everyone loves pringles some day in their life.
8. Cookies and biscuits is another way to help stress the pain out. Mostly I love my cookies and biscuits softened and melted but either way they're still delicious.
9. I'd bring ding dong chips if I really am feeling spicy and marvellous.
10. Lastly I'd bring rice with sugar in it because rice always fills me up and makes me feel happy and joyful inside.

Elon Musk

The famous and creative Elon Musk is an American who produces inventions like Tesla Motars, Solar City and CEO. He is worth over $10 billion making him the 37th richest American. He educated himself at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics. 

He impacts on others life because he has potential that can inspire others in the future to pursue their dreams even if their childhood wasn't the best. I chose Elon Musk out of the five people because I know more about his history and I in the future wants to create many things I've dreamed of.

In my opinion from my knowledge of Donald Trump president of United States of America, I believe it is tragic and unfair for him to build a wall between USA and Mexico. We are all the same regarding skin colour and ethnicity. It is a bad idea to build a wall otherwise we'll never learn to love and appreciate other cultures.

I think Mahatma Gandhi is a role model wanting there to be change in skin colour and I believe that's an amazing thing to do. There should be different ethnicities who should be able to do the same amount of things a fair ethnicity. I think Greta Thunberg is doing the world a favour and we should be thankful. 

Leading The Charge

If I was hired to be a principal for one week, the changes I would make are:

1. Use trips to make students explore the world and learn, experience new things

2. Teach my students to be independent and learn more about depression, anxiety etc. 

3. Hire different ethnicity teachers to teach their kids and make them learn about languages. 

4. Have a picnic every Friday to celebrate how well my school have been doing. 

5. Perform dramas, movies and songs to help pursue some of their dreams.

Someone who has put an impact in my life is Bangtan Soyeondan (BTS) because they make me happy and feel better in myself. I love other multiple Kpop groups but since I discovered BTS first I feel like it deserves to be my idol. 

Listening to their music has inspired me to love myself and express myself even if I seem to hide from everyone. I'm so grateful and lucky to have found out about BTS if it wasn't for my sister, I wouldn't have been able to find something to cure my anxiety.

On your blog, share what you have learned about The Water Project with us. What is the goal of the organisation? Where do they work? What have they achieved?

From The Water Project there are three hundred billion citizens in India, Africa, Rajasthan, Sub-Saharan etc who are suffering/struggling from drinking clean clear water. By producing water, when it rains it falls into a bucket which then collects it. The issue with having dirty contaminated water is that it distraught you from doing your living conditions. 

In the video there is a cycle which explains the cycle of having dirty water. The cycle mentions that dirty water can end up with you having diseases, being sick then sadly passing away. We should participate and help in The Water Project to make sure communities are healthy and clean.

Cons of being the GOAT:

1. Sometimes people in the world can be jealous and find some way to cheat if they're playing against you 

2. Being famous can be a big deal and situation to handle which may lead to some bad consequences including jealously and hatred

3. If you play chess too much and gets in the way of spending time with your loved ones, family and important things, it can distraught you from what really matters

In my opinion I believe it is unfair for the Black Ferns to be less paid than the All Blacks because they're all the same. Female athletes should be paid the same amount of money of male athletes because they're all doing the same thing and overall just have something in common that they love and enjoy. The fact that the Black Ferns are being paid for playing rugby is really sad to hear and I hope whoever is in charge reflects on this.

Cotton Stitching

We have been starting to stitch fabric as we introduce ourselves as St. Pius X Catholic School students. This learning experience had already been a skill of mine which didn't really confuse me a bit. Here is a cotton Thomas has created these past few days. 

Our Day Out At Mt. Wellington!

Yesterday Room 7 had the opportunity to explore Mt. Wellington for activity week. Walking to the train station and to Mt. Wellington needed a lot of effort as it was a fine day. My favourite part of the day is sliding down the mountain with my friends. Next time I will be more prepared and self-protective of my surroundings.

My Comic Strip

We are learning to use comic strips to tell a story. Here is my comic strip that I have created today. My story is about how Room 7 experimented a balloon truck to see far it will go. 

Probability T4

Term 4 we learnt all about probability. I learnt how to calculate the relative frequency of an event, find all possible outcomes using grids and many more. It was a new subject for me but I felt the need to challenge myself into learning new things.

My next step is to learn possible outcomes using a tree diagram. What I might do differently next time is to pay attention to my learning more. Lastly my favourite experiment we experienced was the basketball experiment because it made me understand what we were doing more clearly.

When you gamble it can be a life saver.  Sometimes if you can’t find another way to earn money, you can gamble. When gambling, it can affect the way you make choices in life.  It can make you closer to hiding yourself out from nature.	When you gamble, you can trick people into thinking you’re giving them money Gambling can make you money if your knowledge is better than others. Most people with low money gamble.  Gambling can help with your concerns and to distress your anxiety.

It improves the economy by bringing in lots of tax dollars that can be used to help communities. A casino produces lots of jobs to work there.  Gambling is good for today’s society for several reasons. It can sometimes entertain you when your bored.	Some people get addicted to gambling and lose their money.  Gambling is also harmful for heaps of reasons, like physical health.  Sometimes gambling can give you anxiety and be angry for not winning anything.  It can lead to helplessness.	Some tourists gamble to earn money in order to survive.  There are different types of gambling like doing the lotto, playing cards if your betting on money.  Gambling can be good for your brain.  Sometimes gambling can give you knowledge and tremendous good luck.

Communion of Saints

People are judged for the choices they make during their life. If we do something good we're still going to get judged on because of our conscience. In the end those who have not lived and chose wise choices, in return will receive a bad consequence. It is important to choose wise choices. In my opinion we will get judged on the choices we make in life.

Greetings to all, my name is Limiteti and I attend Saint Pius X Catholic School as a year 7. My ethnicity is full Tongan and I transferred from Ruapotaka School. I first arrived at this school in term 3 of week 2. I had an awkward start as I knew some people from my class at tech. So far I've become independent, more confident but my ultimate goal this year is to be myself in front my friends such other human beings.
